About the Photographer
Who is Blake Monroe?
Growing up I always had a passion for the western lifestyle. Be that cowboys, old western movies or the occasional county fair rodeo. Unfortunately I didn't grow up in that lifestyle but I did grow up in the cornfields of Graysville, IN with a great passion for the outdoors & animals. I was a four year member of FFA at my high school and an eight year member of 4-H. After high school I was blessed the opportunity I had always dreamed about. I met an amazing family who helped me get my feet into rodeo.
I was able to Steer Wrestle for a few years nothing too crazy. Just some small county fair rodeos and unsanctioned rodeos. After I walked away from rodeo due to a handful of injuries there was always something that always pulled me back.
I always had an interest in Rodeo Photography, but being a broke college student that hindered my dreams of ever becoming a rodeo photographer. As I was looking at graduating in December of 2022. I began planning my jump into rodeo photography.
So, in late March of 2023 I purchased my first camera and a handful of lenses. The rest seems like an amazing blur. I traveled to a handful of different states chasing rodeo's. The success of my photography in 2023 has set me up for an exciting 2024!
Not only will I still be following the IPRA circuit. I have added the American Roughstock Association to my schedule along with providing coverage for the rodeo news/media company 'The Rodeo Trail' for PBR events across the midwest along as covering The American Rodeo in Dallas, TX.
The best feeling in the world is having rodeo contestants seeing you arriving to photograph that rodeo. So I am excited to set off on my photography journey here in 2024. Check out my schedule and come out! I love meeting everyone.
I’m associated with the follow associations: American Roughstock Association, International Professional Rodeo Association, and PBR (with Media Credentials from 'The Rodeo Trail').
I appreciate the love and support. Thank you all so much for helping me chase my dreams.
